Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best carpet cleaning method?
There are five different methods approved by the IICRC: hot water extraction, dry compound, shampoo, dry foam, and bonnet. Currently, IICRC is conducting a scientific methods comparison. Many of the large manufacturers endorse one method over another, but each one or a combination of methods can be useful in a customized maintenance program if performed correctly. However, our company prefers the hot water extraction method due to its deep corrective cleaning nature and the low amount of residue left behind.
How long does the carpet take to dry?
The normal dry time is between 4-8 hours depending on type of carpet, how much soil was in your carpet (the more soil that is in your carpet, the more water we'll have to use),
Yes, having your carpet and upholstery professionally cleaned removes pollutants and makes for a more friendly breathing environment. However, for the more serious allergy sufferer, we offer a special Anti-Allergy cleaning service which uses products proven to remove household allergens.
How often should I get my carpets cleaned?
Frequently used carpet should be professionally cleaned by a qualified technician at least annually - perhaps a little longer interval for infrequently used carpet and even sooner for carpet in homes occupied by respiratory sensitive or allergic persons; or in homes with indoor pets.
The following chart from the IICRC S100 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Carpet Cleaning serves as a guideline for recommending cleaning frequencies for carpet. They consider traffic, soil rating, vacuuming schedules, spot cleaning schedules, and professional interim and restorative cleaning.
